About Us

Pringle House Eco School began in 2008, founded by four families with seven children, and initially operated from one of the founders’ homes. By 2009, growing interest prompted a move to the heart of the village, with Jo Peschen as its first principal, followed by Binkie Lees. Binkie and her husband Gary played a vital role in shaping the school’s ethos as an Eco School—instilling sustainability and environmental awareness at the heart of its curriculum.

By 2014, it was clear the school needed more space. The opportunity to relocate to a smallholding outside of town arose, but the idea of renovating an old farmhouse on a limited budget seemed out of reach. Thanks to a generous donation from Homeworx and an outpouring of community support—including parents who painted, gardened, paved, and built jungle gyms—the school proudly opened its doors at the new location in early 2015.

The move wasn’t just physical; it transformed the spirit of the school community, bringing staff and parents closer together. In 2016, the school expanded again, adding a purpose-built space for children aged 24 months to 4 years, made possible by more fundraising and community support.

Today, Pringle House Eco School continues to offer a nurturing, eco-conscious learning environment for children, with a dedicated team of educators and a strong sense of family at its core.
